Help & contact
How can we help?
Email xinaoword@gmail.com. Support is handled directly by the Mandarin Loop app owner.
Include your app version, device model, iOS or iPadOS version, and a short description of what happened. Screenshots are welcome, but remove personal information first. Never send passwords, verification codes, or payment card details.
Support correspondence is used only to answer support requests, kept for up to 90 days after the request is resolved, and can be deleted sooner on request. See our privacy policy.
Learning and pronunciation
Open Learn to study a list, hear Chinese words, use continuous or repeated playback, and complete review tasks. Wordbooks combine simplified Chinese, tone-marked pinyin, and English meanings. Practice activities include meanings, listening, and typing Chinese characters.
Pronunciation uses Apple’s system voices. The app does not record or assess your voice. If you cannot hear playback, check your device volume and audio output, stop playback, and try a word again. Available system voices and their pronunciation can vary by device.
Importing word lists
In Settings, open the wordbook controls and choose Import CSV / TSV / TXT. Use a UTF-8 text file. A simple CSV row can contain a Chinese word, its English meaning, and pinyin:
你好,hello,nǐ hǎo
Word, PDF, Excel, and image files must first be exported or converted to a supported text table. Changing a filename extension is not enough. The app reads only the files you choose; imported words become part of your local library.
7 days of complimentary access
Complimentary access begins on first use and lasts 7 days, with no subscription required and no word limit during that period. The start date is stored on this device.
The ongoing free plan
Without an active subscription after the complimentary period, you can continue studying and reviewing your first 200 distinct vocabulary entries for free. These are the entries you first begin studying, including during complimentary or subscribed access.
- An entry is a whole word or phrase: 你好 counts as one entry, not two characters.
- The same entry in different wordbooks counts once. The allowance is shared across your local library, not renewed daily or per book.
- You can review those entries repeatedly. Restarting plans, clearing learning progress, or switching books does not reset the allowance.
- Your wordbooks and progress are preserved when complimentary or subscribed access ends.
Subscriptions and introductory offers
An optional monthly subscription removes the word limit while it is active. Open Settings → Subscription for Apple’s current local price, billing period, and available offers. The app does not substitute a fixed price when product information is unavailable.
Apple determines eligibility for any introductory free trial. Check the offer and renewal terms displayed by Apple before confirming. A subscription trial starts when you confirm the subscription; it is separate from the 7-day complimentary app access. The two periods do not add together.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. Use Settings → Subscription → Manage Subscription, or your Apple Account subscription settings, to view renewal and cancellation options. Removing the app does not cancel a subscription.
If you already subscribed, connect to the internet and use Restore Purchases in Settings → Subscription with the Apple Account used for the purchase. If details are unavailable, try Reload Subscription Details. Do not send us your Apple Account password.

Local data and backups
This version has no developer account or in-app iCloud synchronization. Wordbooks, learning progress, and the free-word allowance are stored locally. Device backups are controlled by your Apple Account and system settings; we cannot restore a lost local library from a developer server.
Settings includes controls to manage wordbooks and clear learning records. Clearing learning records keeps wordbook contents and the free-word allowance. Deleting the app removes its local app data but does not delete any separate system backup or cancel a subscription.
